Our Story
ENGAGEMENT
I love Madison so much. She’s the best person as many of you already know. One quick moment with her you know what she’s all about. I saw it once briefly and thought about her daily as a whole year passed by. We probably both were not ready then but then universe delivered us to each other with some friends as we battled the Sunday scaries over a couple of beers and a game of darts. I’ll never forget writing M and P on the chalk score board. Feeling and knowing I would see those letters together again so much.
Unapologetically unique. Fiercely loyal. An advocate for best friends. A shepherding older sister. Bill’s Mom. Dedicated and passionate about her career and colleagues. A corporate badass. A true sense of fashion head to toe. Loud and proud of who she is and what she represents. Nails always flawless. The click clack of them when she types an exclamation of her strength. A flamingo glowing during golden hour in shallow water but she washes down whiskey with pickle juice. A tattoo for an admired grandparent — both of us in the same spot. She was born where I was raised. She was raised where I became myself. Together, she has made me a person that I never thought I could be. She simply, just does it all effortlessly being herself.
I can’t wait to celebrate her and us. I am so lucky. We are so lucky. To all the friends and family we have supporting and lifting us up, we love you so much.
Written in chalk, thanks to all of you…
With love,
M + P

📍Wolf Point @ Chicago River
❤️Chicago, IL
🐶 Bill
Wolf Point is the location at the confluence of the North, South and Main Branches of the Chicago River. Located about 1.6 miles from Lake Michigan this was the location of Chicago's first three taverns, its first ferry, its first drug store, its first church, its first theater company, and the first bridges across the Chicago River.
We call Wolf Point home. One of the first things I ever noticed about Maddie was that she had the symbol of these three branches coming together tattooed on her collar bone. The Chicago River has always been a sacred place for me and for us. What better place for us to begin our next chapter than the home of Chicago’s many firsts that we treasure so much as a part of our relationship together: live performance, drinks in a tavern, transportation to the next adventure, bridges connecting, spaces of hospitality and hope. Could not think of a better place to begin our next chapter together.
